Putin praises Russian officers, soldiers for self-sacrifice in fighting for their country

The Russian president noted that Russian soldiers of different nationalities fight shoulder to shoulder

MOSCOW, June 21. /TASS/. President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday lauded soldiers and officers for their self-sacrifice when fighting for Russia and its right to pursue a sovereign path.

"Russian officers and soldiers, the heirs of the generation of victors and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the Great Patriotic War’s heroes, have been selflessly fighting for their country and for its people," Putin said at a meeting with higher military school graduates, referring to the battle against international terrorists in Syria and the military operation to denazify the Donbass republics.

"We are proud of our fighters who have been demonstrating courage and professionalism in the special military operation like real heroes," Putin emphasized.

"Russian soldiers of different nationalities fight shoulder to shoulder. Unified here in faith and in the uprightness of their cause, and thanks to the enormous and truly popular national support that our warriors sense is what makes Russia a great and indestructible power," Putin added.
