Current situation unable to harm Russia-India military-technical cooperation — ambassador

The updated program for military-technical cooperation extended till 2031

MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. The current political situation will not cause any influence on Russia-India cooperation in the military-technical sphere, which encompasses many joint projects, Russia’s ambassador in New Delhi, Denis Alipov, told the Rossiya-24 television news channel in an interview.

"The updated program for military-technical cooperation extends till 2031. There are many tracks and joint projects. I am certain that the current situation will not influence our military-technical cooperation, or will affect it only slightly," he said.

Alipov explained that many of Russia’s defense industrial complex enterprises cooperating with India have long been under unilateral sanctions, US ones in the first place.

"The expansion of restrictions that followed soaring tensions in Ukraine does not change anything in a cardinal way," he stressed. "As for the S-400 contract with India, the supplies proceed according to the original plan. The latest restrictions that have been imposed on us will in no way affect the supplies and the completion of this contract.".
