MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has exposed a terror group comprising people originating from Central Asia, who planned to carry out terrorist attacks, particularly involving suicide bombers, during the holiday season and ahead of the presidential election, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said on Tuesday.

"As a result of a FSB operation, a group of people originated from Central Asia was exposed in the Moscow Region yesterday, who planned to carry out terrorist attacks, particularly involving suicide bombers, during the holiday season and the presidential election campaign," Bortnikov said at the wrap-up meeting of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee.
Improvised explosive devices, firearms and munitions were seized from terrorists, and a laboratory for manufacturing terrorist weapons was destroyed, the FSB chief added.
According to Bortnikov, on December 9-11, two clandestine terror groups were exposed, which had been guided from abroad by the leaders of the Islamic State terror group outlawed in Russia. Another group was exposed in the Crimean city of Sevastopol.
