TEL AVIV, December 10. /TASS/. Israel’s intensive combat actions against fighters of radical Palestinian group Hamas will continue for at least two more months, the Israeli Kan radio station said citing an unnamed political official on Sunday.

The anonymous source noted that after two months of intense fighting no ceasefire agreements are in view in the Gaza Strip and local military operations in the Gaza Strip would continue to be carried out by Israel’s army units, which remain staying in the Palestinian enclave.

Kan’s source also said that within these two months Israel would continue with its efforts offering additional deals to free hostages kidnapped by Hamas radicals on October 7 and held captive in the Gaza Strip.

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 after militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise incursion into Israeli territory, killing many Israeli kibbutz residents living near the Gaza border and abducting more than 200 Israelis, including women, children and the elderly.

Hamas described its attack as a response to the Israeli authorities’ aggressive actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria, as well as a ground operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank.
