Top US diplomat acknowledges that conflict in Ukraine is proxy war between US, Russia

"It needs to come to an end," US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said

NEW YORK, March 6. /TASS/. The conflict in Ukraine is a proxy war between the United States and Russia, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio acknowledged.

"It's been very clear from the beginning that President Trump views this as a protracted, stalemated conflict. And frankly, it's a proxy war between nuclear powers, the United States helping Ukraine and Russia, and it needs to come to an end," he said in an interview with Fox News.

He noted that until now both Kiev, the US Congress and other countries thought that it was enough to "just keep giving them (Ukraine - TASS) as much as they need for as long as it takes." "That's not a strategy," he stressed.
