KRASNOYARSK, February 15. /TASS/. Pyotr Gumenik has claimed first place in the Final of the Russian Figure Skating Grand Prix, currently taking place in Krasnoyarsk. Gumenik scored a total of 314.54 points - 104.50 for the short program and 210.04 for the free skate. Mark Kondratiuk secured second place with 294.06 points (104.70 for the short program and 189.36 for the free skate), while Yevgeny Semenenko finished third with a total of 293.90 points (100.49 for the short program and 193.41 for the free skate). The current champion of Russia, Vladislav Dikidzhi, placed fourth with 287.17 points (99.14 for the short program and 188.03 for the free skate).
Gumenik, 22, was the silver medalist at the 2023 Russian Championship and earned a bronze medal in 2024. He previously won the Final of the Russian Grand Prix in 2023.
On December 20, the Council of the International Skating Union (ISU) announced the qualification of Russian and Belarusian athletes for the Olympics under a neutral status. The Russian Figure Skating Federation is permitted to nominate no more than one athlete, pair, or duet in each discipline. To qualify for the events, candidates will undergo an ISU review, which will assess their ties to the military and their stance regarding the special military operation in Ukraine. The federation must submit its candidates by no later than February 28, 2025.
The competitions in Krasnoyarsk will conclude on February 16.
