MOSCOW, November 10. /TASS/. Russian national Gleb Verdiyan, who was arrested in Moscow for attempted high treason, had planned to hand information constituting a state secret over to foreign intelligence agencies, a law enforcement source told TASS on Thursday.
"Student Gleb Verdiyan planned to hand information constituting a state secret over to foreign intelligence agencies but he was discovered during an investigation and detained by FSB officers," the source said without specifying what kind of information it was.
"An investigation is actively underway, almost all the case files are deemed confidential," the source added.
A spokesperson for Moscow’s Lefortovsky District Court told TASS that Verdiyan has been taken into custody for two months, until January 7, 2023. According to the spokesperson, he is charged under Articles 30.1 and 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (attempted high treason).
