MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. Moscow and Washington have recently reaffirmed their commitment to the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START), Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, speaking at the meeting with the students of the "Dialogue in the name of the future" education program Wednesday.
"By now, only the New START treaty remains, whose effect we proposed to prolong without preconditions even during the previous US Administration, but they disagreed. They did it after all, after President Joe Biden was elected and assumed office. Everyone took it with great relief. The sole instrument of ensuring the global stability remains that still matters. Not too long ago, the Russian Federation and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to the treaty," he said.
