DONETSK, December 15. /TASS/. Special services of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have nabbed a man implicated in a December 9 car blast in central Donetsk, the local department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) told reporters.
"Officers of the FSB, the Interior Ministry, the National Guard of Russia and the Investigative Committee have arrested a local resident implicated in a car blast in central Donetsk," the FSB said in a statement.
A sport utility vehicle was blown up in downtown Donetsk on Monday, killing one and leaving another injured. The man who was killed was the owner of the car, a Russian officer.
The attack was ordered by Ukraine’s special services, the FSB added.
"It was established that the detainee, acting on instructions from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, had planted an improvised explosive device under the car," the statement reads.
The Russian Investigative Committee’s department in the DPR told TASS that Ukraine’s special services had offered a $10,000 reward for the crime.
Officers from the local FSB and Interior Ministry departments are continuing with their investigation and search for all those implicated.
