Russia plans to develop reliable payment systems with friendly countries — Putin

The Russian president also said that Russia's BRICS partners have generally agreed on the idea of developing an investment platform for the association, noting that it has good prospects

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Russia will develop modern and reliable payment systems with friendly countries, including BRICS partners, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the VTB forum "Russia Calling!".

"The number of [BRICS] partners is growing, and everyone wants not only secure methods of economic communication and settlement - they want modern means of payment that would reduce costs and increase the reliability of the international financial sphere. Of course, this also implies the use of modern technologies, including digital technologies. And we will certainly do that," he said.

This direction seems very important, the president noted, "not only because someone is creating some problems for us, but also because the world economy is developing, our relations with both large and small economies and countries are developing," he added.

Putin also said that Russia's BRICS partners have generally agreed on the idea of developing an investment platform for the association, noting that it has good prospects.
