NEW YORK, December 4. /TASS/. In a video posted on his website, US journalist Tucker Carlson said the US embassy in Kiev prohibited Vladimir Zelensky from being interviewed by him.
"We’ve <…> tried for over a year to get an interview with Zelensky," he said. "We’ve attacked that from a bunch of different angles. We’ve spoken to a lot of different around him, had dinner with them. We’ve been in talks continuously and those efforts had been thwarted by the US government. The American embassy in Kiev, with our tax dollars to pay for, told the Zelensky government: ‘No, you may not do the interview.’"
The journalist added that Zelensky was permitted to have a conversation with CNN, but not with him. "So we’ve been unable to talk to him [Zelensky]," Carlson continued.
In his words, most Americans have no access to full information about the current situation on the global arena. They have no other perspective other than that granted to them by NBC News or The New York Times, Carlson added.
In February, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a two-hour interview to Carlson. It was published on February 8. Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said at the time that Putin achieved the main goal of the interview to break through the information blockade in the West and be heard.
