TEHRAN, February 7. /TASS/. Tehran rejects The Wall Street Journal's allegations that Iran and Russia are allegedly building a drone factory together, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Tuesday.
"Arms exporters and war mongers are out to justify their unilateral actions and miscalculations in war planning by falsifying the news," he replied to a request from Mehr news agency for a comment.
"This is fake news. The countries that are the largest suppliers of weapons and equipment to one of the parties to conflict have been trying to mislead world public opinion by spreading fake news. The Islamic Republic of Iran does not take sides in the conflict (in Ukraine - TASS note) and it has no intention to do so. Its goal is to promote a political solution."
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that an Iranian delegation had allegedly been sent to Russia to look into the possibility of building a factory capable of producing 6,000 Iranian-designed drones Russia would be able to use in the conflict in Ukraine.
