Russia can supply India with all necessities in sphere of defense, top diplomat says

"Russia can provide anything India wants and the technology transfer in the context of defense cooperation is absolutely unprecedented for any of India’s outside partners," Sergey Lavrov noted

MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/. Russia can provide to India anything it wants in the sphere of defense, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the India Today TV channel on Tuesday.

"And on defense, we can provide anything India wants. And the technology transfer in the context of defense cooperation is absolutely unprecedented for any of India’s outside partners," he said, replying to a question on the deliveries of S-400 systems to India.

In 2015, New Delhi announced that it intended to buy Russia’s S-400 air defense missile systems. A $5.43 bln contract on the delivery of five regiment sets of S-400 Triumf anti-aircraft missile systems was signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India in October 2018.
