Israel does not intend to participate in what is going on in Syria, the military stressed

TEL AVIV, December 8. /TASS/. The Israeli armed formations have been moved to the buffer strip on the Golan Heights, which separate territories controlled by Israel from Syria, amid the recent developments in the Arab republic, the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

"As the situation was assessed after the recent events in Syria, including armed persons entering the buffer strip, the Israel Defense Forces have deployed troops in the buffer strip and a number of other places, which is necessary for its defense to ensure the security of [Israeli] settlements on the Golan Heights and the citizens of Israel," the statement reads.

Israel does not intend to participate in what is going on in Syria, the military stressed. "We emphasize that the Israel Defense Forces do not interfere in Syria’s domestic affairs. The Israel Defense Forces will continue acting as necessary for maintaining the buffer zone and protecting Israel and its civilians," according to the statement.
