West’s promises to seek peace in Donbas turned out to be blatant lies — Putin

"They have stepped up their encouragement of Ukrainian neo-Nazis pushing them for more acts of terrorism in Donbass," the Russian leader said

MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Promises of the Western countries to pursue a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass turned out to be a blatant forgery and deception, as these countries were engaged in chicanery, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday in his annual address to the Federal Assembly.

"As we see now, promises of the Western countries’ rulers and their assurances about the drive for the peaceful solution in Donbas turned out to be a forgery and blatant deception," Putin said. "They have been simply dragging out the time, were engaged in chicanery and turned a blind eye on politically-motivated murders, Kiev regime’s repressions against unwanted, abuse of [religious] believers."

"They have stepped up their encouragement of Ukrainian neo-Nazis pushing them for more acts of terrorism in Donbass," he said.
