MOSCOW, February 22. /TASS/. Russia’s land troops will receive about 11,000 pieces of new and modernized military hardware till the year 2020, Commander of the Russian Land Troops Colonel General Oleg Salyukov said on Sunday.
"In all, it is planned to buy more than 5,000 new and about 6,000 modernized models of armoured vehicles and tanks, and about 14,000 state-of-the-art motor vehicles till 2020," he told journalists.
In particular, the land troops plan to purchase modernized T-72BZ tanks that took part Tank biatlon in the in 2014, T-90A (MS) tanks, armoured infantry vehicles BMP-3, modernized BMP-2, and armoured personnel carriers BTR-82AM.
"Most of these vehicles will be displayed at the international weapons forum Army-2015 to be held in a Moscow suburb on June 16 through 19 this year," he said.
