MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) is successfully adapting to new threats and challenges and carrying out this work continuously, SVR Chief Sergey Naryshkin said in an interview with the National Defense magazine on Wednesday.
"I can assure you that the SVR is constantly and successfully adapting to present-day challenges and threats," he said, replying to a corresponding question.
Russia has no need for its "Foreign Intelligence Service to act similarly to the CIA and MI6 and disclose secrets of its everyday activity," Naryshkin said.
In particular, the SVR head referred to a joint interview by CIA Director William Burns and MI6 Chief Richard Moore in the UK-based daily The Financial Times where they outlined quite in detail the main operational priorities of the intelligence agencies, in particular, containing and countering Russia and China.
