MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that he is preparing for a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping and would try to show the Chinese delegation the Moscow Metro's Bolshaya Koltsevaya line (Big Circle Line) during his visit to the Russian capital.
"In terms of its length, the 70-kilometer Bolshaya Koltsevaya line has become the world's largest underground subway ring, surpassing also our friends in China, that is, the current global leader, the Beijing Metro Ring Line. We will be meeting with the President of the People's Republic of China. If the schedule allows, we will be happy to show it [the Big Circle Line] to our guests as well. In any case, I think we will be able to show it to the delegation," the head of state said on Wednesday at the launch of traffic on the entire Moscow Metro's Bolshaya Koltsevaya line.
At a February 22 meeting with Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), member of the CCP Politburo Wang Yi, Putin said he expected Xi Jinping to visit Moscow soon.
A Russian division of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) was involved in the construction of a section of the line.
