Shortlist of Academy Awards published in US

The International Feature Film category lists 15 films

NEW YORK, December 18. /TASS/. The US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has published the shortlists in ten Oscar categories for the 97th Academy Awards.

The International Feature Film category lists 15 films, including I'm still here (Brazil), Emilia P·rez (France), The Girl with the Needle (Denmark), Waves (Czech Republic), Touch (Iceland), as well as films from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Canada, Latvia, Norway, Palestine and Thailand.

Music (Original Score) category includes Challengers, Conclave, The Wild Robot, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Inside Out 2.

Films shortlisted for Documentary Feature Film category include Black Box Diaries, Dahomey, Frida, Hollywoodgate, and Porcelain War.

Other shortlists that were unveiled on Tuesday are Documentary Short Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live-Action Short Film, Sound and Visual Effects.

The 97th Academy Awards will be held on March 2, 2025.

The Oscar statuette depicts a knight standing on a movie reel and holding a long sword in front of him. It is 34 centimeters high and weighs 3.85 kilograms. Currently, the award is given in 23 categories.
