Video camera used to surveil Russian general found inside car sharing vehicle — source

Items of interest to the investigation were seized from the car

MOSCOW, December 17. /TASS/. The video camera used to surveil Chief of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops Lieutenant-General Igor Kirillov was installed inside a vehicle from a carsharing service, a law enforcement source told TASS.

"It has been preliminarily established that there was a video camera in a carsharing vehicle parked near General Kirillov's house, which was used to surveil him," the source said.

Items of interest to the investigation were seized from the car.

According to investigators, on the morning of December 17, an explosive device that was planted in an electric scooter went off near the entrance of a residential building on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow. The blast killed Kirillov, 54, and his aide. The Russian Investigative Committee has classified the explosion as a terrorist attack, and an investigation is underway.
