BRATISLAVA, December 17. /TASS/. Slovakian Economy Minister Denisa Sakova has told reporters that she has held talks with Chief Executive Officer of Gazprom Alexey Miller focusing on supplies of Russian gas to Slovakia and further on to other countries of the European Union.
"As announced earlier, we continue negotiating the process of supplying strategic [energy] raw materials to Slovakia and their transportation [through Slovakian territory] to Europe," the minister said. The talks with the head of the Russian gas producer were held in the remote mode, she added.
Sakova and Chief Executive of the Slovak gas transport system operator SPP Vojtech Ferencz visited Russia in early December. They held talks with Gazprom management on continuation of supplies of Russian gas to the republic in St. Petersburg.
Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico told reporters on December 14 that the republic was negotiating continuation of gas supplies through Ukrainian territory in 2025. Slovakia sees no reasons to pay for gas more than required due to geopolitical reasons, he said.
