Putin inspects mobilized personnel training, tests sniper rifle

RYAZAN REGION, October 20. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin visited a military ground in the Ryazan Region where mobilized servicemen undergo their training, according to a TASS reporter at the scene.

The commander-in-chief inspected the matters of combat coordination of units and the mobilized personnel’s readiness to carry out missions in the special military operation area. Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu reported to the President about the progress of combat training of the mobilized citizens on various military specialties, as well as on combat coordination within units. Putin also inspected practical tactical, fire, engineering and medical training, observed as the mobilized servicemen practiced an assault course at a squad level and combating mock enemy’s armored vehicles in close quarters.

The President also visited a multi-purpose firing complex. Mobilized servicemen practice fire within units there, led by their commanders and instructors with combat experience.

Putin also inspected the contents of the small and large soldiers’ backpack: the former includes ammunition and ready-to-eat meals, while the latter also includes a mat, spare underwear and other necessities. The President also examined uniform and shoes designed for different seasons. Putin himself visited the military grounds wearing civilian clothes.

During the inspection, Putin also tried the SVD marksman rifle, firing several shots. After observing the fire practice, the President donned protective goggles and headphones himself and fired several rounds from a prone position from a practice sniper nest.
