Russia does not kick anyone out and does not close itself off from anyone — Putin

According to the president, Russian business, despite objective difficulties, has turned out to be extremely responsible

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. The Russian market should be open and competitive, the country does not kick anyone out and does not close itself off from anyone, President Vladimir Putin announced this at the VTB "Russia Calling!" forum.

"What I want to stress is that we are interested in our market being open and competitive. This is the key to development, an incentive for the qualitative growth of domestic business, the entire Russian economy. I repeat, Russia does not kick anyone out and does not close itself off from anyone," Putin said.

According to him, Russian business, despite objective difficulties, has turned out to be extremely responsible.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues for this. [Domestic business] has not only retained its workforce, established new supply chains, but is also launching projects on the domestic consumer market, in the high-tech sector of the economy, in tourism, and in other industries. It is actively involved niches that were vacated after a number of Western companies left our market," Putin said.

"Did they (the West - TASS) think that everything would collapse, or what? Nothing like that happened. We took over everything and moved forward. And the actions of our entrepreneurs are very confident," the President said.

VTB Global Investment Forum Russia Calling! takes place on December 7 and 8 at the World Trade Center in Moscow. For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic, the event is held in an offline format and for the first time is also held in Chinese. TASS is the information partner of the forum.
