Some 346,000 people remain without electricity in Russia’s south — ministry

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Some 346,000 people remain without electricity supply in Russia’s south, Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov said in an interview aired by the Rossiya-24 TV news channel, adding that it is planned to fully resume electricity supply on Wednesday.

"As of now, electricity is to be supplied to 346,000 consumers. Electricity supply has been fully resumed in the Krasnodar Region, the Dagestan Region and the Rostov Region," he said.

In Crimea, around 100,000 consumers remain without electricity supply, the minister noted, adding that electricity will be fully supplied in the area in the first half of the day on Wednesday. "Some 80,000 [people] - in the Donetsk Republic, 136,000 people - in the Lugansk [Republic], <…> 16,000 people - in the Zaporozhye [Region] and 9,000 people - in the Kherson Region," he said, adding that the plan is "to finalize resumption of electricity supply today by the end of the day."

At least four people were killed and several dozens injured. The weather event damaged homes, caused power outages and traffic problems.
