Gazprom ready to build gas pipelines in the Black Sea — CEO

The issue of the possible transfer of lost capacities in the north in the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea is up-to-date

MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. Gazprom is ready in technical terms to build new gas pipelines to Turkey via the Black Sea, CEO Aleksey Miller said at the Russian Energy Week forum.

"Probably, the issue of the possible transfer of lost capacities in the north in the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea is up-to-date and timely setting of the matter. We are ready in technical terms to build gas transport facilities. Concerning the hub, no doubts that the issue of a trading platform on the border of the European Union and Turkey should be considered," Miller said.

"It is much quicker to create in the Black Sea from the standpoint of restoring strings of broken Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, instead of offshore gas transport capacity lost in the north," Miller added.
