HAIKOU /China/, February 6. /TASS/. The resort town of Sanya located on the coast of Hainan Island together with its surrounding counties presented new tourism products during the Chinese New Year holidays, which last from February 1 to 6. This was reported by China News Service.
According to the news portal, the changes affected the key landmarks located in the so-called Greater Sanya, a recreation area that includes Lingshui Li Autonomous County and Baoting-Li and Miao Autonomous County in addition to the city itself. For example, Tianya Haijiao (The edges of heaven, corners of the sea), located at the southernmost tip of the island, invited renowned calligraphers to showcase their amazing craftsmanship to the public.
The event added to the atmosphere of the tourist attraction, where short quotes of famous historical figures engraved on huge boulders now adorn the park. For example, one of the stones is inscribed with a quotation in the perfectly copied handwriting of Guo Moruo (1892-1978), a famous Chinese writer and politician.
The administration of Demarcation Island (Fengzhoudao), 1.2 km southeast of the Hainan coastline near Sanya, also prepared an exciting program. Tourists were given the opportunity to experience the local fascinating underwater world courtesy of a state-of-the-art bathyscaphe. The public was also greatly impressed by New Year's performances of artists dressed as mermaids at Atlantis Aquarium.
Visiting Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone (in the local dialect "Ya Nuo Da" means "one, two, three") was no less interesting. The park is 45 square kilometers and boasts a massive glass stage several hundred meters long looming high above the ground.

Local guides recommend visiting the Yalong Bay Tropic Paradise Forest Park this season. The valley is home to traditional villages of the Li - the autochthonous people who have lived in Hainan for at least 3,000 years, as well as the Miao ethnic group, whose ancestors came to the island from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region about 600 years ago.
Sanya is China's leading resort, with more than 1 million residents, according to the 2021 census. The average annual temperature in this city is 25.4 degrees Celsius and the coastline is more than 200 kilometers long. There are 19 bays and about 40 islands suitable for recreation. All this allows the local administration to successfully develop yacht and beach tourism.
