LONDON, February 3. /TASS/. Executive Chairman at the British S4 Capital Martin Sorrell, who participated in last week’s closed online meeting with President Vladimir Putin as part of the Davos Agenda Week, said he was very much impressed by the Russian president's deep knowledge of all contemporary global issues.
"It was a broad range interview with Putin at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He covered almost everything - from economics and COVID to social and political issues. He has been serving the country as a president or a prime minister for many years so he has tremendous experience and knowledge. He always impresses with a depth of knowledge. I doubt whether there are any other leaders that can keep up with him on many of these subjects," Sorrel said in an interview with TASS.
"You may or may not agree with his views, but he is very impressive with his grasp of the details and the issues. If you ask him a question or if he touches upon any subject, he has very detailed knowledge about this," Sorrel said. He added that he had noticed this ability of the Russian President several years ago. Back then Sorrel was with a group of high-profile Western businessmen Putin received in Kremlin.
According to the British entrepreneur, the online meeting as part the Davos Agenda Week was interesting both for the Russian leader and the business representatives. "I think it was a good initiative, it was good to hear him speak. And the meeting gave Putin an opportunity to talk with businessmen about what concerns him - not just outside Russia but inside Russia too," the British businessman said.
Sorrell, 75, founded S4 Capital in 2018. Previously he built WPP into the world's largest advertising PR group in over 30 years.
About 80 executives from major global companies took part in an online meeting with Putin last week as part of the Davos Agenda Week.
In December 2020, the Geneva headquarters of the World Economic Forum announced that the annual meeting of business and global policy leaders, traditionally held in Davos, Switzerland, would take place in 2021 in Singapore from 13 to 16 May, and in January it was planned to hold the traditional Davos Agenda Week online.
