MOSCOW, August 7. /TASS/. Numerous violations of sanitary requirements and technical regulations for foods were found in McDonald’s chain restaurants in Moscow in the second quarter of this year, press service of the department of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Tuesday
"According to results of inspections of ZAO Moscow-McDonald’s, 107 orders imposing fines totaling 5.5 mln rubles ($86.600) were issued for individuals at fault, including the legal entity. ZAO Moscow-McDonald’s was ordered to eliminate violations of sanitary requirements and closeout violations of technical regulations’ requirements," the press service says.
According to data of the department, production and storage areas of fast-food restaurants were in an unsatisfactory condition, ventilation did not meet requirements, and there were no bactericidal lamps in ready courses and salads forming areas. Specialists recorded that temperature conditions of foods storage and principles of marking and goods adjacency were breached in individual restaurants.
Regulator’s specialists also recorded that the staff in certain McDonald’s restaurants in Moscow did not undergo medical inspections and vaccinations, and the management failed to undertake required measures for rodent and insect control. Environmental and sanitary-epidemiological requirements of garbage handling were breached.
The regulator sent inspection findings to the Moscow City Trade and Services Department.
