Death toll from hostilities in DPR since early 2022 exceeds 5,240

Among those killed are 153 children

DONETSK, February 17. /TASS/. More than 5,240 civilians were killed in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) since the beginning of the conflict escalation on February 17, 2022, according to the DPR’s directorate for recording Ukraine’s war crimes.

Among those killed are 153 children. "A total of 7,757 civilians, including 515 children, have received wounds of various degree of gravity," it said, adding that the overall death toll among civilians from hostilities since 2014 stands at 9,616, including 244 children, with 15,576 people being wounded.

As many as 172 civilians were hurt by Lepestok anti-personnel mines. Three of them died from wounds.

More than 203,000 rounds have been fired by Ukrainian troops at the DPR over the period of escalation.
