US not interested in ensuring transparency of its bio research — Russian top brass

Igor Kirillov pointed out that Washington has a lot to hide

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. Disclosing the activities of its biolaboratories is not in the United States’ interests as it has a lot to conceal, Chief of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Force Igor Kirillov said on Monday.

He said that all signs indicate that the United States and its allies are working on dual-purpose programs outside their national territories. According to Kirillov, a network of US-controlled laboratories is financed by the Pentagon and its contractors.

"The fact that the United States blocked the initiative of a control mechanism of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention at the BWC Ninth Review Conference proves once again that Washington is not interested in ensuring transparency of its biological research as it has a lot to hide," he told a briefing on the analysis of documents about the United States’ military biological activities.
