BRICS may influence global financial system change — expert

"This BRICS set-up will be good for Africa, will possibly offer some sort of fairness in regards to trade and political economy of Africa," Dr. Amakanji Oluteyo said

NAIROBI, December 17. /TASS/. Africa expects that BRICS countries will be able to change the global financial system to benefit countries of the continent, researcher of the Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) Dr. Amakanji Oluteyo told TASS.

"The BRICS arrangement is a good one, it speaks to issues of emancipation again from the imperialists. The regime that has existed especially in political economy, that regime has not favored Africa," the researcher said. "This BRICS set-up will be good for Africa, will possibly offer some sort of fairness in regards to trade and political economy of Africa," Oluteyo noted.

"If Africa remains in the traditional set-up led by the US, then we are not likely to see any changes with regard to Africa," he added.
