Russia’s 2026 wheat harvest expected at last year’s level

Russia has harvested 93 mln metric tons of wheat in bunker weight since the beginning of 2026, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said

GELENDZHIK, October 5. /TASS/. Russia has harvested 93 mln metric tons of wheat in bunker weight since the beginning of 2026, with the full-year harvest expected to be on par with last year, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut told reporters.

"We have already harvested 93 mln metric tons of wheat in bunker weight, but we need to look at the weight after cleaning and drying. Almost all of it has been harvested. I think the volume should be at last year’s level," she said.

The minister noted that Russia would fulfill all of its grain and food export commitments.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said at a meeting on seasonal field work that Russia’s grain harvest in 2026 was expected to total around 140 mln metric tons.

In 2025, Russia harvested more than 144 mln metric tons of grain, the third-largest harvest in the country’s history.

Russia’s grain harvest totaled nearly 130 mln metric tons in 2024. In 2023, the country recorded the second-largest harvest in its history at around 143 mln metric tons, or approximately 147 mln metric tons including Donbass and Novorossiya.

In 2022, Russia set a new record for its gross grain harvest, collecting a total of 157.676 mln metric tons.
