Ukrainian troops often get surrounded in Kurakhovo area — report

On December 15, the Ukrainian General Staff described the Kurakhovo area as one of the hottest spots in the entire battlefield

MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces in the Kurakhovo area get surrounded in one location after another, the Strana news outlet reported, citing Ukrainian soldiers that blame their commanders for the failures.

According to the report that the news organization posted to Telegram, Ukrainian units get isolated in pockets because commanders on the ground are unwilling to report the real situation to their superiors. One of the soldiers said that "if brigade commanders had regularly reported the real status, rather than wishful thinking where they hope to retake positions," Ukrainian forces would not have been driven into such a difficult situation. According to the serviceman, this applies not only to the Kurakhovo area, but also other areas.

On December 15, the Ukrainian General Staff described the Kurakhovo area as one of the hottest spots in the entire battlefield. On the same day, Vladimir Zelensky also said the situation in Kurakhovo and in the Krasnoarmeysk area was challenging.

Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, said on December 15 that Ukraine controlled no more than 20% of the town of Kurakhovo. According to the official, Russian troops also blocked about 200 Ukrainian servicemen in the village of Annovka south of Kurakhovo.
