WASHINGTON, November 5. /TASS/. American analysts do not dare to predict the outcome of the upcoming US elections, claiming a high degree of uncertainty, Politico reported.
"I don’t think anybody knows how this will turn out," said Patti Solis Doyle, a Democratic strategist and a former campaign manager for Hillary Clinton in 2008, as quoted by Politico. "Everything I see contradicts itself," said Douglas Heye, a veteran GOP strategist and former communications director for the Republican National Committee.
"The only intellectually honest answer is to say: I don’t know," he added, commenting on the possible election outcomes.
According to the newspaper’s assessment, "never in modern political history has there been so much uncertainty heading into Election Day."
Polls of voters in swing states show that both candidates are almost equally likely to win, Politico emphasizes.
The US general election is being held on November 5, 2024. Voters will elect the president, one-third of the Senate, all 435 members of the House of Representatives, and governors in 11 states and two territories.
The presidential race features Republican candidate Donald Trump, who served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021 and is attempting a return to the White House after losing to Joe Biden in 2020. Harris, the current vice president, has served since January 2021 and is now seeking the presidency.
