MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. In the case against Hunter Biden, the US justice system steered clear of exposing the corruption link between the ultra-liberal wing of the Democratic Party and the Kiev regime, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.
In a televised comment on Hunter Biden's pardon, she recalled that "for years, President Biden has vowed not to interfere in this process," despite the high-profile rows over the data from his son's laptop, for which anyone else "would have gone to jail for many, many years a long, long time ago."
"The jury found him guilty [on a number of counts]; he was facing hard time, up to 25 years, and a mammoth fine. Against the backdrop of all this, let's not forget that President Biden said that he would not interfere with US justice. Now it's clear why. He always intended to pardon his son, regardless. Does something else need to be said? The most surprising aspect of this affair, in my opinion, is that the core issue remained in the shadow - the corrupt link between the ultra-liberals and the liberal party, I mean the US Democratic Party, the president whom it had nominated and was in office, his son and the Kiev regime," Zakharova continued.
She pointed out that "the US judiciary didn't dare address" the corruption network established during Barack Obama’s presidency, where millions of dollars changed hands.
Biden previously signed pardons for his son Hunter in two court cases, despite repeated promises that he would never do so. The White House, too, had repeatedly asserted that Biden had no plans to pardon his son.
