MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. The recent telephone conversation between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Russian President Vladimir Putin was a positive thing, even as Germany continues to unconditionally support Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Germany is continuing its policy toward unconditional support to Ukraine. At the same time, we really can recall with satisfaction that quite recently the Russian president had contact, his first in a long time, with the German chancellor. Certainly, dialogue is always a positive thing," Peskov said.

On November 15, the two leaders spoke over the phone at Berlin’s initiative. They exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, the Middle East crisis and relations between Russia and Germany. The Russian president and the German chancellor agreed that their aides would maintain communication.
