BEIRUT, April 1. /TASS/. The Israeli military has carried out an airstrike on a building in the Syrian capital of Damascus, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

According to the media outlet, the Mezzeh municipality in northwestern Damascus came under attack. No information on casualties is available at this point.

According to the Dubai-based Al Hadath TV channel, the strike targeted a villa near the Iranian embassy, which was used by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). Several blasts occurred in the area, the broadcaster said, adding that a thick plume of smoke was rising from the western outskirts of Damascus.
