Israeli warplanes attack Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon

Rescuers are working on the site

BEIRUT, December 30. /TASS/. Israeli fighter jets attacked the city of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon, a stronghold of Hezbollah armed units.

According to the Al Wataniya agency, the planes fired missiles at a building in the Hai al-Baraqa neighborhood. The building was totally destroyed and damage was done to adjacent houses and cars.

Rescuers are working on the site. One man has been retrieved from under the debris alive.

Bint Jbeil is located four kilometers from the Lebanese-Israeli border and has a population of some 30,000. The city was attacked by Israeli warplanes on December 26, when two Hezbollah fighters and one civil defense officer were killed.

Hezbollah said earlier in the day that its Shiite units had fired guided missiles at Israeli positions in the Beiit Gilel and Kharaj Adasir border areas. Apart from that, they shelled an army barrack in Ramim. Shiite units also used a drone to attack Israeli soldiers near the Rampt checkpoint.
