Israeli army launches retaliatory missiles after shelling from Lebanon

TEL AVIV, December 26. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has carried out strikes on areas in Lebanon from where its fighters were shelling the north of the country, the army's press service reported.

"Over the last few hours, two launches were identified from Lebanon toward Manara [in northern Israel]. The IDF struck the source of fire and two launch posts, as well as additional areas in Lebanon," the statement said.

In addition, "a surface-to-air missile was launched from Lebanon toward an IDF UAV operating in the area." "The UAV was not damaged by the missile and successfully completed its mission," the military added.
