WASHINGTON, November 26. /TASS/. A little over half of Americans (51%), believe that the US should stop sending weapons and military aid to Ukraine, according to a poll conducted by CBS News together with the YouGov data analytics firm.
However, 49% of those surveyed back further military assistance for Kiev.
The poll revealed that 79% of respondents think US President-elect Donald Trump and company should give a hard look to cutting back on Ukraine aid. Notably, some 33% of the poll’s participants said that Trump should give the issue "high priority," while 36% view it as "a medium priority."
The poll, conducted on November 19-22, involved over 2,200 Americans.
Trump repeatedly stated during his election campaign that he intended to end the conflict in Ukraine even before his inauguration. The Biden administration has been providing significant financial and military support to Ukraine, which includes weapons supplies, training of Ukrainian troops and humanitarian aid, all amounting to more than $59 billion. Russia has repeatedly said that flooding Ukraine with weapons would not weaken Moscow's resolve or change the course of its special military operation.
