New EU sanctions on Russia may target 80 individuals, entities — agency

In addition, the EU proposes imposing restrictions on some 30 organizations allegedly assisting Moscow in acquiring military technologies

BRUSSELS, November 26. /TASS/. The European Union plans to blacklist about 50 individuals and 30 entities under its 15th package of sanctions on Russia, Bloomberg reports, citing documents.

According to the documents, the new restrictions will mostly target Russian military manufacturers and some Chinese firms allegedly supplying them with parts for the production of drones. Other proposed sanctions would hit Russian oil transportation companies, military personnel and company executives.

In addition, the EU proposes imposing restrictions on some 30 organizations allegedly assisting Moscow in acquiring military technologies. According to the documents seen by Bloomberg, the list includes firms in Russia, Serbia, Iran, India, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, as well as in China. The EU also plans to blacklist North Korean defense officials allegedly involved in sending troops to Russia.

The new package of sanctions is also expected to ban more than 45 oil tankers from Russia from accessing European ports and services, Bloomberg notes.

The envoys of EU member states will discuss the new sanctions on Russia on November 27.

Earlier, EU officials said that Brussels had begun working on the 15th package of sanctions against Moscow.
