At least 13 Palestinians killed in Israeli air strike on refugee camp in southern Gaza

According to the report, the search and rescue effort continues, and more victims may still be trapped under the rubble

BEIRUT, December 14. /TASS/. Israeli warplanes delivered a strike on al-Shabura, a Palestinian refugee camp in the south of the Gaza Strip, destroying two residential buildings and killing at least 13 people, the SANA news agency said.

According to the report, the search and rescue effort continues, and more victims may still be trapped under the rubble.

Al-Shabura is located in Rafah, a city on the border with Egypt where an eponymous border checkpoint is located. The checkpoint is the main gateway for humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The previous attack on this refugee camp was reported on November 11.

According to Al-Mayadeen, fierce fighting is now under way east of Khan Yunis, a city in the southern portion of the Gaza Strip. The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, is now trying to contain Israeli forces advancing in the area. Shootouts were also reported in Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun in the north of the enclave, as well as in several districts of Gaza’s administrative center, Gaza City.
