MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. Myanmar supports the Russian special military operation in Ukraine and is confident Russia will achieve victory soon, Myanmar Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing said.
"We understand the situation in Russia, so we fully support the special operation in Ukraine. I can say with confidence that victory will soon be yours," he said at talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.
According to the prime minister, the conflict in Ukraine was prompted by the actions of the West.
"Thanks to Russia's efforts, the world is moving toward multipolarity. But Western countries began to counter [these efforts], which is why the situation in Ukraine arose," Min Aung Hlaing said. "I am sure that every country should defend itself, its sovereignty, its people, its interests if they are encroached upon."
The prime minister also thanked Russia for the support it provides to Myanmar on the international stage.
