NEW YORK, October 28. /TASS/. Maine Governor Janet Mills said the man suspected of going on a shooting spree in the city of Lewiston was found dead.
Robert Card "is no longer a threat to anyone," she said at a news conference.
The governor said she had informed US President Joe Biden of the news.
Maine Public Safety Commissioner Michael Sauschuck told reporters Card was found dead on Friday evening, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
At least 18 people were killed and 13 injured when an assailant opened fire in a restaurant and a bowling alley in Lewiston on October 25.
According to ABC television, Card has military background and was a firearms instructor. He had a history of mental health issues, ABC said.
