Ankara considers sending US forces to support Israel’s ground operation a mistake

ANKARA, October 25. /TASS/. The US sent its military advisors to Israel to support the ground operation, and this approach is erroneous, says Spokesman of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party Omer Celik.

"The solution to the problem is political in nature. It is impossible to stop the tensions while the occupation continues," he said during a press conference in Ankara. "The first thing that the US did was sending an aircraft carrier. Now, they are talking about sending US servicemen with experience of working in Gaza conditions to Israel. To support the ground operation. Such position showed that this is not a solution-oriented approach; this is an erroneous approach."

Previously, US National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby announced that Washington sent a number of military advisors to Israel.

The situation in the Middle East has escalated abruptly after an armed infiltration of HAMAS militant from the Gaza Strip into Israel. The HAMAS movement considers this attack a response to the actions of Israeli authorities towards the Al Aqsa Mosque at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Israel announced a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip and started carrying out strikes at the enclave and at certain areas of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes also take place in the West Bank.
