MINSK, January 31. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who is paying a state visit to Zimbabwe, has given a tractor as a gift to the African country’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa and received a stuffed lion as a present in turn, the BelTA news agency reported on Tuesday.

The presents were exchanged at a ceremony of handing over Belarusian agricultural vehicles to Zimbabwe’s farmers. The Zimbabwean president received a Belarus 92s tractor.

"First of all, I want to thank the Americans and the entire Western world for having imposed sanctions against us. Otherwise, American and German tractors would have come instead of Belarusian ones to this huge field," Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian leader noted that in Zimbabwe there are the friends of Belarus, with whom Minsk is building cooperation for the sake of achieving the common good.

Lukashenko arrived in Zimbabwe on a state visit on January 30.

In October 2022, Lukashenko gave Russian President Vladimir Putin a gift certificate on his birthday for a tractor of another model known as the Belarus 1523.3.
