Erdogan, Putin discuss situation in Syria and Libya

The conversation was initiated by the Turkish side

ANKARA, July 27. /TASS/. The situation in Syria and Libya was among the topics discussed by Turkish and Russian Presidents, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin, over the phone, the Turkish president’s office said on Monday.

"The presidents discussed steps to strengthen relations between Turkey and Russia, tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and regional developments, including the situation in Syria and Libya," it said.

Apart from that, the presidents "agreed to continue dialogue and cooperate in the interests of further development of bilateral relations," it said.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin press service said that during the conversation with Erdogan, Putin stressed the importance of preventing further escalation of tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The conversation was initiated by the Turkish side.
