Intensity of CAR officials' visits to Russia driven by stronger dialogue — Russian envoy

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. The intensity of visits by top officials of the Central African Republic (CAR) to Russia is linked to the two countries’ mutual interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation, Russian Ambassador to the CAR Alexander Bikantov said in an interview with TASS.

"In recent times, there has been an intensification of visits by top officials of the CAR to Russia," Bikantov said. "This positive trend is linked to mutual interest in strengthening cooperation with our country."

"On the other hand, it indicates a positive momentum that was given to the interaction by the second Russia-Africa summit in July 2023," he added.

As the ambassador noted, recently Russia was visited by CAR President Faustin-Archange Touadera, CAR Prime Minister Felix Moloua and CAR National Assembly Chairman Simplice Mathieu Sarandji. "During his visit to Russia, [President] Touadera met with Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the United Russia party. Moloua was received by Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk. Officials from relevant ministries were also present at the meeting," he emphasized. "Sarandji met with Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin."
