Russia to continue evacuation from Gaza, grateful to partners for cooperation — statement

The Ministry noted that earlier on November 17, "another group of Russian nationals and their families, evacuated from the Gaza Strip"

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Russia will continue its evacuation measures in the Gaza Strip and it expresses gratitude to authorities of Egypt, Israel, Palestine and Qatar for their active cooperation on this track, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"The Russian side expresses gratitude to representatives of Egyptian, Israeli, Palestinian and Qatari authorities for their efficient cooperation. The evacuation measures will continue via coordinated efforts of Russian foreign missions in Cairo, Tel Aviv, Ramallah and Doha, as well as the Ministry of Emergency Situations and corresponding agencies. All necessary efforts are being made to ensure prompt and safe evacuation of our compatriots from the conflict area and their successful return to Russia," the Ministry said.

The Ministry noted that earlier on November 17, "another group of Russian nationals and their families, evacuated from the Gaza Strip," arrived in Moscow via the Ministry of Emergency Situations flight from Cairo.

"A total of 120 people, including 49 children," the Ministry said. "Necessary cooperation was provided in the Domodedovo airport for passage of customs, migration and passport control, with documents provided for Palestinian family members of Russian nationals."

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that over 1,000 people have applied for evacuation, including both Russian citizens and compatriots. The first flight carrying 70 Russian citizens landed in Moscow on November 13; the second flight carrying 98 evacuees arrived in the Domodedovo airport on November 15.
