Lavrov to hold talks with Finnish counterpart on February 15

The top diplomats are expected to discuss bilateral cooperation, including the schedule of upcoming political contacts, issues of cooperation on the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian tracks, the agenda of regional formats of cooperation in the Baltic Sea region and in Northern Europe

MOSCOW, February 4./TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with Finnish counterpart Pekka Haavisto in St. Petersburg on February 15, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Thursday.

The foreign minister "will arrive in Russia for a working visit at the respective invitation," the diplomat said.

According to Zakharova, the top diplomats are expected to discuss bilateral cooperation, including the schedule of upcoming political contacts, issues of cooperation on the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian tracks, the agenda of regional formats of cooperation in the Baltic Sea region and in Northern Europe, including Russia’s upcoming two-year chairmanship of the Arctic Council starting from May, 2021.

The sides are also expected to exchange opinions on key international issues, Zakharova added.
